Earmark Hearing Conservation
Frank Wartinger founded Earmark Hearing Conservation with the mission to improve the hearing health of musicians in the greater Philadelphia area.
Earmark offers hearing conservation consultation, custom hearing protection options, and in-ear monitors. Serving musicians and music lovers, Earmark aims to provide customized solutions for listening, monitoring and performance needs for years to come.
Frank Wartinger, Au.D., ABAC, F-AAA, CPS/A
Prior to obtaining his graduate degree in Audiology from Salus University, Frank studied at Purchase Conservatory of Music in the Studio Production Program and earned his Bachelor of Music degree. He is an active composer, producer, recordist, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. With over 200 records produced to date, his music has been featured on NPR's All Songs Considered and film score credits with PBS, SevenBar Foundation, Studio Rever, and the American Film Institute. Along with songwriter and producer Scott Hallam, he is co-founder of Audiodowsing, a full service music production company. He currently co-hosts and produces the music audiology podcast Talking Ears.
He teaches hearing loss prevention and industrial audiology at the Osborne College of Audiology at Drexel University as well as Wayne State University in Detroit. Currently Dr. Wartinger serves on the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) representing the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). He is a certified CAOHC Course Director and Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Program. He is active on the executive committee of National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) as an elected Member At Large (2024 - 2026), previously served as the Director of Communications (2017 - 2019), and is a member of the NHCA Music Induced Hearing Disorders Task Force. Frank is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology (ABA). As a member of the AAA Music Audiology Task Force, he was coauthor of the first clinical consensus document addressing the audiological services for musicians and music industry professionals (2020).
Dr. Frank Wartinger was a clinical specialist in audiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from 2014 - 2022. There he coordinated the Healthy Hearing Community Education Program, a community service initiative focused on hearing loss and hearing conservation awareness with children and young adults in the Philadelphia area.
Drawing on his extensive experience on both sides of the glass - behind the mixing board and behind the microphones - Frank brings real-world solutions to each client's hearing and monitoring situation.

Dr. Frank Wartinger is a Gold Circle Audiologist in the Sensaphonics audiologist network.
